Inspired by actual events, this is my outlaw tale in three parts.
Lyrics
Part I
I am a criminal
you see me comin, better hide your kids
the world would be much safer
if I was behind bars for what I did
It was a long, dusty highway
I was dressed in black, a loan wolf on the road
That's when I saw the red lights in my rear view
and I shoulda run, if only I had known
I pull aside
my pulse is pounding
my mind is racing through all I've done
He taps the glass
while I scan my options,
should I confess or beg and plead or should I run?
I am a criminal
you see me comin, better hide your kids
the world would be much safer
if I was behind bars for what I did
Part II
Oh officer, what is my crime?
Or are you just trying to make a dime?
If I am truly such a bad, bad person
then maybe I should be doin' time
(solo & police officer encounter)
Part III
Oh officer
don't take me money
cause I'm just trying to feed my kids
I'm not a threat
to public safety
but thanks to you I am about to flip my lid
