Man With Small F (The Inaccessible PDF Song)

In my day job I'm technology accessibility specialist at the University of Washington (there's more about the everyday me on my other blog). This song was inspired by a blind university student who came to my office and nonchalantly said "There's something wrong with this document". This proved to be quite an understatement! Her document (required reading for her class) was in an Adobe PDF file, and some PDF files are more accessible than others. This particular document looked fine visibly, but audibly all the student was hearing was random characters and phrases. When I first listened to this, I was impressed by how rhythmic and poetic it was. I diagnosed the problem and figured out how to fix it for the student, then rushed home to record what I was hearing and give it a rhythm section. Inspiration comes from some amazing places!
